The Living Experiment: Day One

A Tale of Torture and Mazes (Part 2)

The house has been prepared.  Warden Victor has been moved into his own little two-room area, filled with luxuries like tv and comfy chairs.  Windows all around will allow him to observe his less-fortunate subjects.  Ooh, this will be fun.

I thought it would be okay if the groups crossed paths on their way in.  After all, they won't be seeing each other face to face for the rest of the experiment.  Victor wastes no time giving a friendly greeting to Anna.  Anna seems...unimpressed.

Everyone goes inside.  The doors are sealed.  The parents seem kinda happy with their new housing.  Chrono frowns and begin to walk.

She works her way effortlessly through the maze.  She makes every turn with purpose.  She  never pauses, she never backtracks.  She's clearly on a mission...

...to criticize the overhead lamp.

Crypto follows her lead.  He goes to all the trouble of finding the sink just to express how revolting it is.  Oh Crypto, that sink is the nicest thing in this house!

Anna is on a mission too.  She's found the hidden exit.  Finally, someone with brains in this house!

Or...not.  Anna goes right back through the front door into Victor's chamber.  To admire him.  She's changed her tune awfully quick.  Priorities, Anna!  I'm gonna have to remove that hidden exit.

I send her back inside and fix the house.  Bummed out, Anna seeks out the TV and sits down to watch the news.

By late afternoon, the family has settled into a pattern.  They're all seeking out things to raise their "fun" bar.  All their motive are sinking, but they just want fun.

While Anna drowns her sorrows in the news, Crypto and Chrono take turns with the RC car.

Victor, meanwhile, is starting to feel lonely all by himself.

He opens up his fridge and begins drinking.

Then some guests arrive.  Hey, friends to keep Victor company!

Or not.  He criticizes his visitors, then starts a fight.

*Bam*  *Pow*

The fight ends.  With their backs turned, his lady guest feel free to say how she really feels about Victor.

Victor turns to face her.  He obviously finds her attractive too.

But Victor isn't in the mood for love.

Diary Excerpts:
Dear Diary, today I moved into a new house.  It's really cool!  Except I can't find the exit anymore.  Victor is sooo dreamy!    -Anna
Dear diary, my parents are NUTS!    -Chrono
