The Living Experiment: Night One

A Tale of Torture and Mazes (Part 3)

Victor has stopped fighting with his guests.  He seems to think that if he ignores them, they'll just go away.

He can't use the restroom with them all standing there!

There are problems with having all his utilities in one room.

Little Chrono is the first to do something about her dropping hunger motives.  She opens the fridge and begins cramming food into her mouth like she's starving.

Crypto complains loudly.  But so far it seems no one actually wants to cook.

I give the family a table and chairs to encourage them to prepare a meal.  Anna looks really disappointed.  She's lost her excuse not to cook.

But she's not going to do any more than she has too.  She prepares a one-serving frozen dinner.  Everyone else is on their own.

Crypto whips up a bowl of macaroni and cheese...for himself.

Parenting 101: feed your kid!  Poor Anna is too young to use the oven, so there'll be no dinner for her.  She finds one of the two beds and settles down for the night.

It's 2:00 am before Victor's last guest leaves.

Relieved he's finally on his own again, he settles down for a peaceful night's sleep.

Crypto leaves the kitchen and makes the swim to the last twin bed.

But Anna got there first.

Disappointed, Crypto gets back in the cold water and swims the maze back to the kitchen.

He's alone tonight, on a hard bench.

He dreams of his wife.

Diary excerpts:

Dear Diary, I'm hungry, tired, cold, wet, and sleeping on a bench.  Even my RC car can't cheer me up now.  -Crypto
Dear Diary.  I think I hate people.   -Victor.
